JBN Medical Diagnostics Services
Inc located on the third floor of UCC, provides services in four
categories:
- Specialists Care
- Specialty health clinics
- Non-invasive cardiac testing
- Research through Clinical Trials
JBN 'S TIMELINE::
1995 - Jbn began setting up a non invasive cardiac diagnostic centre to complement
their busy internal medicine practice
1996 - Addition of echocardiography to cardiac diagnostic range
1997 - Expansion to on site specimen collection and some lab processing before the
shipment for analysis
1998- First clinical trial conducted at jbn
2000 - Large expansion of the diagnostic division. Implementation of numerous satellite
holter monitor testing sites
2001 - Dr Pandith, internal medicine - rheumatology and Dr Ladha, internal medicine,
join the group
2002 - Expansion of clinical trials to research division
2002 - Development of specialty health clinics : memory and bone health
2002 - After moving to a new facility to accommodate the rapid growth of the clinic,
JBN converted to electronic medical records with the gradual elimination of paper charts.
2003 - JBN became fully electronic throughout the entire clinic. EMR has allowed us to
provide better patient care by expediting diagnostic results and consultation reports to
referring physicians within 24 hours.
2003 - Further devlopment of specialty health clinics in collaboration with other
vascular centres in London, Cambridge and Hamilton.
2004 - Development of special public education forums (PEF'S) free to all patients and
the general public. Aimed at addressing specific health problems, including: Bone Health,
Memory Health, Vascular and Diabetic Health, Healthy Weight Clinic and Asthma Clinic.
2004 - Healthy Weight Clinic -Pounds For Health? developed. Ran by registered
dietitician in collaboration with internal medicine physician supervision.
2006 - Development of The Canadian Bariatric Clinic (CBC) Obesity and Cardiovascular
Treatment and Research Centre at JBN Medical. The clinic's goal is to improve health, by
decreasing cardiovascular risk factors, such as high blood pressure, diabetes and
improving the knowledge base of obese patients to enable them to implement strategies to
deal with their obesity.
2007 - Addition of special bariatric equipment for cardiovascular testing to JBN
diagnostics department. Recumbent bike and new ultrasound equipment, with specialized
technician training allowing for superior technical quality of cardiovascular testing on
obese patients.
2008 - Expansion of the Pounds for Health clinic.
